Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) was constituted by the Government of Tamilnadu on 27th February, 1982 in pursuance of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 (Central Act 6 of 1974). It enforces the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Cess Act, 1977, the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, and the rules made under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.


The objective of TNPCB is to control, prevent and abate pollution of streams, wells, land and atmosphere in the State to protect the environment from any degradation by effective monitoring and implementation of pollution control legislations.


Always work in the interest of the environment in the State .Work unitedly as a team to offer dedicated services to the betterment of the environment and thereby protect the health of society and public.


Function in a time bound module and strive to dispose off important papers within the time schedule.
